Even visitors who aren’t necessarily science lovers are captivated by this vast museum on a small island in the Isar River. With 35 subject areas on six floors, covering everything from astronomy to timekeeping, Deutsches Museum presents milestones in natural science and technology from prehistory up to the present. Visitors can go ‘underground’ in a kilometre-long mining shaft, board an imperial submarine from 1906 or be shocked by an artificial lightning strike. Although parts of the museum are closed for renovation until 2025, there’s still an incredible number of exhibits to be amazed by and experience first-hand.
