The Temple of the Reclining Buddha sits behind the Temple of the Emerald Buddha and is one of the largest religious complexes in Bangkok. It is famed for its giant Buddha – 46m long and covered in gold leaf, with feet inlaid with mother-of-pearl. There are hundreds of other smaller statues to admire, as well as intricate murals. Wat Pho is also the birthplace of Thai massage – a vigorous way to achieve relaxation. The school here is one of the best places in Bangkok to experience a truly traditional Thai massage.
