The Strand Arcade

Right in the heart of Sydney’s business district, The Strand Arcade is a Victorian style covered gallery. Designed with steel shaped by English architect David Spencer, it was first known as the City Arcade then as Arcade Street. Its current name pays tribute to the famous street in London. At the beginning of the 20th century, The Strand was filled with Sydney’s theatres, hotels and fancy shops. This architectural gem has managed to retain its charm and is now home to leading Australian designers including Alex Perry, Fleur Wood, Alannah Hill and Victoria Buckley Jewellery.
