Rue Antoine Dansaert & Rue des Chartreux

Formerly a working class area in Brussels, Rue Antoine Dansaert quickly became a must-visit haunt for trendy fashionistas when, in the late 90s, the vanguard of Belgian fashion decided to settle in there. Lined with 18th-century mansions and Haussmann buildings, the "fashion" area then spread to rue Chartreux and rue de Flandres. Home to a wealth of local designers as opposed to international brands, the area has favoured homegrown designers such as Martin Margiela, and concept stores and multi-brand boutiques such as Hunting and Collecting, Stijl and Bel'Arte.
