The former apartment of Latvian architect Konstantīns Pēkšēns is now a small but engaging Art Nouveau museum. Carefully restored to its 1903 appearance, it offers a glimpse of upper-class life in Riga in the early 20th century. Highlights are the ornate staircase that spirals up towards decorated ceilings, and the stylised Art Nouveau images of squirrels, flowers, pine needles and pine cones. Unlike grander museums, this space gives you an intimate insight into the former inhabitants' everyday life, from the bathtub standing on lion's paws to the cast-iron sink in the kitchen.
