Queen Sirikit is particularly interested in her country’s expertise when it comes to silk, and was keen to pay tribute to this savoir-faire in a dedicated museum. The very elegant Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, housed within Wat Phra Kaew, presents the Queen’s most beautiful outfits. Silk dresses, traditional ceremonial outfits and exquisite tailor-made pieces by French designer Pierre Balmain, along with gorgeous antique silk made using Thai techniques to create a comprehensive, luxurious array of Thai fashion and its inspirations.
