Museum of Fine Arts

When visiting Marseille, your steps will surely take you to the Palais Longchamp, known for its neoclassical architecture, a park with multiple fountains and the Musée des Beaux-Arts. When it opened in 1804, it was the city’s first museum. The collections represent the best of French and Italian art from the 16th and 17th centuries, as well as several paintings by Flemish masters such as Rubens. The museum has a distinguished collection from the 19th century, including Rodin’s Inner Voice, and the works of Provençal artists who attest to the region’s creative effervescence during the 17th and 18th centuries.
