Founded in 1973, the Centre d’Arts Plastiques Contemporains is among the country’s best contemporary museums, with a reputation that extends beyond France’s borders. Under the high stone arcades of a former warehouse, the CAPC brings together the works of 190 artists from the 1950s to today. Complementing the permanent collection is a rich programming of temporary exhibitions, guided tours, children’s workshops and other events. On the rooftop of the museum is an immense café, ideal for a sunny break or a lunch on the terrace. Locals flock here on Sundays for the Café du Musée’s brunch buffet.
