Riga's UNESCO-listed Central Market is as bustling now as it was when it opened in 1930. Standing grandly by the Daugava River near the train station, the market sprawls over five striking pavilions. Stall after stall is piled high with fresh, seasonal local produce, spices, crafts and other goods of all kinds. Pick up some smoked fish or pâté, pickles and rye bread for a picnic, or come at night for the atmospheric Night Market.
