Marché des Capucins

A sudden craving for oysters or an urgent need to buy a bouquet? Only one place to go: “les Capus”, the market’s pet name among locals, who have been going there since the 18th century. Fruits and vegetables, meat and seafood, fish and fowl... At the largest market in Bordeaux, the stalls offer a myriad of high-quality products, foodstuff or otherwise, at attractive prices. The halls and the 19th-century glass roof were built by repurposing metal structures from the Paris World Fair. A variety of cafes, restaurants and Asian shops make the Marché des Capucins a lively meeting place.
