Maison de la Photographie

Based in a genuine fondouk in the Medina, a caravanserai built around a central courtyard, the Maison de la Photographie was opened in 2009. 10,000 glass plates and old photographs are on display here, telling the story of the birth of this visual art in Morocco, connected to the rise of the Souissi Studio. Pictures by renowned photographers including Adolf de Meyer, Marcelin Flandrin and Henri de La Martinière take centre stage. It is also a great way for visitors to discover the landscapes and culture of Morocco back then, through themed exhibitions that change on a regular basis.
