MACBA

In the Raval neighbourhood, the ultra-modern MACBA sets the mood straight away. This building of contrasts, with its smooth curves and straight lines, designed by architect Richard Meier, houses an impressive collection of contemporary art. Current Catalan artists, including Miquel Barceló, have found their spiritual home here. In the museum’s immaculate spaces, temporary exhibitions also explore the major art trends from the second half of the 20th century to the present day. From Pierre Huyghe to Robert Frank, via John Baldessari, exciting pieces showcase the best that the international art scene has to offer.
