Malmaison Art Centre occupies a building of the former Grand Hôtel, of which it is the only remaining vestige. This Belle Époque jewel, which has hosted exhibitions of contemporary art since 1945, is today one of Cannes’ most recognised cultural institutions. From the 19th to the 20th century, mania for the French Riviera attracted artists as prestigious and revolutionary as Picasso, Miró and César. The Malmaison galleries carry on this avant-garde art tradition through the two to three thematic exhibitions held there each year. The director then guides visitors through an exciting presentation lasting about 90 minutes.
