Jantar Mantar

In the eighteenth century, Maharaja Jai Singh II built five observatories scattered throughout the country. All are called Jantar Mantar and are among the oldest obervatories in the world. The Jantar Mantar observatory in New Delhi is nestled within a verdant garden, making it an ideal spot for a picnic. Its unique architecture is not the only surprise of the site.
