Ho Chi Minh City is a center of art and culture in Vietnam,
evidenced by its acclaimed institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts, the Fito, dedicated
to traditional medicine, and the History Museum of Vietnam. The first, set in a beautiful
Art Deco building, offers a fascinating glimpse into Vietnamese pictorial art, including
contemporary works. The second is devoted to the ancient history of traditional medicine. As
for the Museum of History of Vietnam, the ex Blanchard de la Brosse Museum, visitors can
learn everything about Vietnam’s cultural history, from prehistory to the present, showcased
within a building constructed in 1929 by the League of Indochinese studies.
