The venerable Dutch department store chain opened its Eindhoven location in 1969. Its distinctive façade and prime location next to the central train station make it hard to miss. Italian architect Gio Ponti covered the building in glazed green tiles which are lit from behind. And none other than Philips donated the original lighting.
In addition to four levels of high-end fashion, accessories and home décor, de Bijenkorf (‘the beehive’ in Dutch) offers on-site tailoring and watch repair. Café B is a stylish haven for lunch, while The Kitchen on the second floor serves international dishes in a comfortable setting.
