Ben Thanh Market

Ben Thanh has had a market since the 17th century. The current building, dating from 1914, is a lively, crowded hub of stalls selling clothing, groceries, electronic goods, handcrafts and souvenirs. Eating is as much a part of the market experience as shopping. Vendors sell hot meals, desserts and coffee, to eat in or take away. The market is open from 6am to 6pm, with the temperature rising as the day progresses. In the evening, a night market comes to life, with numerous street-food stands spreading out around the building.
