The Latvian National Museum of Art (LNMA) is housed in five different buildings in central Riga. Together, they store and exhibit the country’s largest collection of Latvian and international works of art.
The newly renovated main museum houses 19th–20th century paintings and sculptures by Latvian artists. The Art Museum Riga Bourse is international in scope, with an Oriental Gallery and Western Gallery. The Museum of Decorative Arts and Design showcases a variety of mediums – textiles, ceramics, metal, leather, wood and glass – by Latvian artists from the late 19th century to present day. The Romans Suta and Aleksandra Belcova Museum is named after two Latvian classical modernists, and the works of this husband-and-wife team are displayed in their former flat. Arsenāls Exhibition Hall is dedicated to artworks from the mid 20th century to today.
