Vitra Design Museum

We must cross the border into Germany and reach the Rhine - only fifteen minutes from Basel mind you - to discover one of the most beautiful design museums in the world. The Vitra Design Museum is well worth travelling to Germany for! Designed by Frank Gehry, the museum presents two major annual exhibitions, in addition to those of the Vitra Design Museum Gallery, workshops or Vitra Campus events. Charles & Ray Eames, Anton Lorenz and Verner Panton are only a few of the great names associated with the museum's collection, which also dedicates retrospectives to other contemporary designers such as Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec.
