Surrounded by clear, safe waters rich in marine wildlife, Villasimius is rightly known as one of the best places in Sardinia for scuba diving and snorkelling. Fishing trips and boat tours leave regularly from Villasimius marina in summer, with some including picnic lunches and stopovers for swimming and snorkelling. Look out for leaping dolphins in the bay – or leap across the water yourself by booking windsurfing, wakeboarding or waterskiing. For those who prefer adventures on dry land, the peninsula is crisscrossed by hiking trails and has an 18-hole golf course overlooking Porto Giunco beach.
