Van Abbemuseum

The Van Abbemuseum is one of the longest-standing museums of modern art in Europe. The original building showcases temporary exhibits, while a newer wing has five levels of works from the 20th and 21st centuries. The 2,800-plus pieces in the eclectic collection include works by big names like Picasso and Chagall, as well as Dutch artists like Piet Mondrian and Theo van Doesburg. Women, non-Europeans and LGBTI artists are also well-represented.

The Van Abbemuseum is open daily except Mondays and some holidays. Admission is free 3–5pm on Tuesdays. No fee is required to visit the library, café or shop.
