An early 20th century visionary, for whom the customer was always
right, Harry Selfridge managed to achieve an unrivalled level of service. Today, his London
department store continues to apply his motto. Selfridges sells men’s and women’s fashion
labels (such as Fred Perry and Marc Jacobs for example), as well as homeware, toys, tech,
beauty and food products. In 2010, the Oxford Street store just beat the Galeries Lafayette
in Paris to open the largest shoe department in the world, covering 3,250m2. Heaven for shoe
addicts. Renowned for their architectural innovation, Selfridges stores have become tourist
attractions in their own right.
