Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral

Officially called the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, this Roman Catholic cathedral was built near the end of the 19th century, during the French colonial period. Notably, all the materials used in its construction were imported from France. Neo-Romanesque in design, the vast red-brick building has twin bell towers, each topped with a cross. The understated interior, with pale walls and rows of wooden pews, provides a soothing sanctuary for peaceful contemplation. The cathedral is located just across the park from Reunification Palace.
