The National Museum of Korea is a significant museum dedicated to
Korean heritage. With an area exceeding 137,000 m2, it is the sixth largest museum in the
world and it may take several visits to explore all of its fascinating exhibitions spread
across three floors. On the first level, the museum’s archaeological gallery gathers 4,500
objects from the Paleolithic to the Silla period. Visitors will find religious and
traditional Korean art on its second level, while the last level features 630 handcrafted
objects, such as celadon, buncheong, white porcelain from the Joseon period and Korea
Buddhist sculptures. This floor also hosts a superb gallery of Asian art.
