Just off busy İstiklal Avenue, this small museum presents innovative contemporary art exhibitions by solo artists as well as groups. The paintings, sculptures and multimedia installations spread over several floors of a striking bourgeois building from 1910. As well as publishing bilingual books about each exhibition, the gallery regularly puts on talks, tours and performances. Since its opening in 2010, it has remained one of the highlights of the buzzing Beyoğlu art scene. The Vehbi Koç Foundation, which runs Arter, is set to open a new multidisciplinary art museum in Istanbul's Dolapdere district towards the end of 2018.
