Al Bastakiya District

Also known as Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, Al Bastakiya District dates back to the 1890s, and was originally made up of around sixty houses separated by twisting lanes. Al Bastakiya District was founded by cloth and pearl merchants from Bastak in Iran. Today, the labyrinthine corridors of the neighbourhood run alongside the restored homes of merchants, art galleries, cafes and shops.
